What: The first-ever hearing where we will urge our elected officials to fund a city-wide, city-funded initiative for affordable veterinary care for all New Yorkers.
Why: Because our animal shelters and rescues are regularly in crisis. Because New York City has the resources for this. Because no New Yorker should have to surrender their furry best friend due to a lack of affordable vet care.
When: Friday, September 13th at 10:00 If you are joining us in person, arrive at City Hall by 9:30am on Friday, September 13th. There will be instructions given to people who have signed up to testify. Wear mint green if you have it as we’re presenting a united front.
Where: City Hall chambers (across from 250 Broadway in Lower Manhattan) or online via Zoom or written testimonies.
How: Register to testify in person, via Zoom, or submit a written statement :

“I could never have adopted my dog/cat/emotional support animal/service dog without the ACC/the rescue I adopted from covering initial costs”
“When my dog/cat/etc needed to be fixed it was the ASPCA/local rescue group that ensured it happened because I couldn’t afford it at the time”
“My dog/cat received critical healthcare because my veterinarian offers discounts and community rates”
“I had to give up my pet because I could not afford their care”
